UCU-1

The Uplink Command Unit UCU-1 is is a handy battery powered unit for transmitting commands to the Miss Distance Indicator (MDI) equipped with an uplink receiver.

The following commands can be transmitted to the MDI:

- change of MDI identity, sensitivity and frequency.

- The model UCU-2 has the possibility to switch on/off, or to flash a lamp on the MDI.

Up to six different MDI identities can be selected, i.e. the UCU-1 can communicate with up to six different MDIs.

The possibility to change the MDI sensitivity gives a flexible operation of the scoring system.

The MDI sensitivity can be changed during the mission because of changes in the mission profile, i.e. target speed or caliber size.

It is also possible to select between the two MDI scoring data telemetry frequencies.

The UCU-1 has a built-in rechargeable battery. A battery warning LED alerts the operator when it is time to charge the battery.

The two rotary switches on the front panel are used to select MDI identity and sensitivity.

The toggle switch is used to select between the two MDI scoring data telemetry frequencies.

The selected commands, identity, sensitivity and frequency, are transmitted to the MDI by pushing the transmit button. A LED indicates that the data is being transmit

On the right side of the UCU-1 connectors for the antenna, external power (28 VDC) and battery charger are located.
